Pamper yourself! November 22, 2010

This is for all you ladies! Winter is here, and I’m sure you’ve got your wardrobe ready but that’s no excuse to forget about your nails. I don’t like to paint my nails on a regular basis because I am always aware that they might yellow too quickly but I found this amazing incredible new line by Zoya called “FLAME” available at Bubbles Nail Spa in Kuwait. The collection has six different colours all that make that winter outfit look so much more hotter!

ZOYA “FLAME” ‘nail polish collection
The great thing about Zoya and this particular collection is that according to their website (www.zoya.com) is that it is free of “toluene, camphor, formaldehyde, and dibutyl phthalate (DBP) – chemicals that are known to cause cancer and birth defects”. The colours are deep sexy and fresh and they have a tint of glitter but WAIT! don’t freak, I don’t like tacky glittery nail polish but this collection has a gorgeous subtle tint of glitter to it that just makes it look so stylish so if your local nail spa doesn’t have this collection get on their website mentioned above and be sure to check out the different colours available and hurry up and order!

Now, for all those residing in Kuwait I would strongly suggest visiting  Bubbles Nail Spa in the city even though it’s pricey be sure to treat  yourself even if it’s just once. Their collection of nail polish is  incredible there is every single shade you could want and the staff is  great. They are super cautious when it comes to hygiene so  everything they use on you that day is sent back with you to use at  home which is great. There are lots of different kinds of mani pedis I  usually go for the stone massage mani and pedi which comes up to  about 27 kd if I remember correctly, even the hot stones are a one  time use only thing! (Still doesn’t excuse the somewhat high price tag)  but I always go back to someone if their service is great.

Bubbles nail spa interior

The interior of the place is super cool and decked out in a stylish metal industrial kind of way with a lot of natural light which feels fresh and bright. Their chairs are comfortable and the sinks are sunk into the ground which is so much nicer than having someone bring you a bucket of water to dip your feet into! I love that they always bring me a heat pack to rest on my shoulders while I relax in the comfortable recliner. If you ask, they can bring you an eye mask to help you rest while getting your treatment. The best thing about Bubbles is that after you are done, they bring you a machine which allows you to put your hands and feet in for about 7 minutes that will completely dry the polish! Finally, we ladies can leave the spa with our polish still in tact even when we take out our purses to pay!

Two things I hate about this place is the freakin location! It’s in the city so getting there and back will almost always cause you to be stuck in traffic, and the parking is insane!! The other thing I don’t like about it is it is hard to get a reservation if you are calling on the same day. I know that you should always book a day before but sometimes you just feel like getting your nails done and not being able to is a bit annoying, I guess there is always a down side to being popular.

Be sure to check out their website http://www.bubblesns.com. Their address is Jasim Tower Al Sour Street and their phone number is 22960929 OR 22960930. Their website also has a map for directions. Try out their Zoya flame/fire & ice collection!!

Giving back November 8, 2010

Mac Cosmetics

This is just a quick post to notify all the ladies out there who don’t already know about MAC’s policy of giving back. I love MAC products, I buy all my make up from there because it feels soft and natural on my face, even their heaviest colours of eye shadows can be applied and heavily or as lightly as you want.

Some of the packaging you can return

Anyway back to the point, MAC has a deal going on with its customers, and that is for every SIX (6) empty containers you bring back to one of their stores, (eye shadows, foundation, lipstick etc) MAC will give you a free lipstick in your colour of choice. It’s a great way to help the environment and you get rewarded with a token of their appreciation for doing your part for our planet. I am big on recycling and doing little things to help and this is just such a great thing MAC are doing. Their website is http://www.maccosmetics.com

Fresh face November 5, 2010

L'Occitane

Like lots of women, my skin is sensitive and I constantly struggle with trying to find a good line of facial products to help me maintain my beauty regime that won’t irritate me and this year I finally found the wonderful brand “loccitane”, and my skin is reaping the benefits.

I went in search for a moisturiser that could make my skin glow but not make me look like a freshly polished surface  and I found it! YAY! My skin combination is normal to oily but can sometimes be dry especially after using the Clinique face wash, so I found the one product that really agreed with my skin, Loccitane’s Ultra comforting cream. When I first found this product I had a very small but very dry patch on my left cheek and it looked a bit odd, after only 2 days, this patch was gone. What I also love about this moisturiser is how soft it feels and that it is free from fragrance.

It took me a long time to get into a routine of wash and moisturise every day and every night, but with this product, I actually believe any woman from any age will see an immediate difference in their skin. Loccitane has more than one line of facial products but the sales lady here in Kuwait at the shop in Avenues took one look at my skin and immediately knew what to recommend, and all I can say is god bless her heart! Haha!

Anyway if you’ve been looking for a product line that will allow you to radiate then don’t let the somewhat high priced product put you off, as they say you can never put a price on beauty!
